Tired of the same holidays? Looking for a place where to
rest, far from the noise and bustle of the cities? We invite you to
know the real one, " authentic " Andalusia. In the Costa del
Sol, is the region of the Axarquía , conformed by a
mosaic of towns where you'll be able to visit multitude of places as
well as to enjoy its gastronomy and traditions. Salares ,
with little more than 200 inhabitants, is one of the calmest and
typical towns of the region. Salares is in the skirt of the
Natural Park Sierra Tejeda-Almijara , important natural
reserve where animals like the wild goat, the fox, the eagle
or jabalí
inhabit.

It is an ideal place to practice photography,
hiking, to make a route with on an 4WD vehicle or simply, to
breath pure air...The track of the Arab communities has been
left patent in the architecture. The assembly formed by the
Church (that before was mosque), and the Alminar was declared
National Historical Monument in
1.979.The
town is a labyrinth of narrow and staggered streets that
transfers us to the past. By most of them it is impossible to
drive with vehicles. |

Agriculture is the basic pillar of the economy. Due to
the steepness of the land, the mules continue being used for
the workings of the field, mainly for the plow of lands and
the transport of the fruits. The most important crops are the
grapevine, the olive tree and the almond
tree.
But
Salares is not only a place where "to isolate yourself
". From there you'll be able to visit, in addition to the city
of Malaga , great part of the province, from
Nerja , Frigiliana or Cómpeta to
Torremolinos , Mijas , Marbella ,
Antequera...
|
You can also make one day-trips to places like
Granada , where of course you can't miss the
world-known Alhambra-palace.
Also you will be able to enjoy beaches, distant only
30 kilometers, and to taste typical fried fish in one of the
many bars existing in Torre del
Mar.
The journey from Malaga Airport to Salares by car
takes about 70 minutes. |

In
Salares is "Casa Alminar", a house of typical Andalusian
style over 200 years old that has been recently restored. The
restoration of the house has been done in order to preserve
the structure to the maximum.
The
house is distributed in dining-room, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom.
The bedroom has a double bed. In the dining-room there is a
sofa-bed. The capacity is of 3 (adults), or of 4 (2 adults + 2

The
kitchen maintains the enchantment of the traditional kitchens. Over
the chimney remain the copper pans that were used to cook. Also the
pitchers which were used to bring water of the river are
conserved. |
